I’ve always loved reading. I cannot remember a single moment in my life where I wasn’t in love with books and the new worlds and adventures that they could bring! The particle board bookshelf I had in my bedroom bowed under the weight of my ever-growing personal library. So it was only natural when I became a mother to do whatever I could to instill that same love of reading into my own children.
I’ve found that the easiest step you can take to build tiny readers is just to make books available to them. That’s it. Just put books in their hands and watch the magic happen! That’s why I’m so excited about Kellogg’s Feeding Reading program! The goal of this awesome program is to get more books into the hands of more children. And participation is as easy as visiting your local Walmart! Just buy any participating Eggo product by 9/30/19, and get a FREE Penguin Random House book!
Because the girls and I love reading so much, they already have quite the extensive library. So, I thought, Why not share that love with others by donating books to the school library? And the Feeding Reading program can help us do just that! We already love starting the day with the wholesome goodness of Eggo + variety waffles (they’re super convenient for portable, on-the-go, gotta-get-to-school breakfasts), so getting free books for doing what we already do is just the cherry on top!
Once I’ve uploaded our proof of purchase to the website, all I have to do is click “Donate Now” and select a local school or library to receive the books we earned! It’s so easy! Another fun idea would be to order the books and then donate them to a Free Little Library. There’s so many great ways to use this program to spread the love of reading!

- Take a picture of your receipt(s) with qualifying purchases, then log in to Kellogg’s Family Rewards® and upload your receipt (Each receipt must be submitted separately and within 30 days of purchase).
