Happy Mail: Sunshine in a Box

July 28, 2014

Last year, I made a New Years Resolution to be a better friend.

It’s easy to get caught up in our day-to-day routine and forget about those people we care about most.

There’s dishes to do. Laundry to wash. Errands to run. Projects to tackle.

It’s a lot. And relationships are easy to get lost in the shuffle.

So I made my resolution and tried my best to carry it out. I didn’t always succeed. Lots of times the routine won out. But I keep trying. Even a year and a half later.

So in the spirit of friendship, I decided to put together some care packages for a few girlfriends of mine. Just a few small things to let them know that I was thinking about them.

Who doesn’t love happy mail?

I decided to send them Sunshine in a Box. So everything in the package had to be yellow.

I bought Swedish Fish, yellow jelly beans, bubbles, Juicy Fruit, a picture frame, lemon hand soap, and earrings. Nothing fancy. Nothing expensive. Everything cost less then $1.50 each. I just wanted fun things to brighten the girls’ day.

I packaged it all up in a tuck-top box.

I added the cute little sunshine printables I found here.

Then I added a card telling each girl how much I valued her, closed it up, and decorated the box. Happy mail should be pretty! πŸ™‚

So what are you waiting for? Send someone you love a box of sunshine to brighten their day! πŸ™‚

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.

I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any tips for newbie blog writers? I’d definitely appreciate it.

I’m a relative newbie myself, so I’m not sure I’m the best person to give advice. I recommend finding and joining blogging groups on Facebook. They are a wealth of knowledge and advice on all things blogging related. I learn so much from the folks in there and they’re always willing to answer any questions I have.
