2017 was a whirlwind year for me.

Between having a baby, rebooting the blog, and starting work on a large DIY project, things have been super busy around here. As exciting as it all has been, I’m looking forward to the potential of a 2018 that’s a bit slower paced.

That’s not to say that there won’t be plenty going on around here. I have lots of goals for the blog and lots of projects planned around the house. And, of course, I’ll be sharing it all with you!

Here’s what you can look for in 2018:

Operation Clubhouse – If you follow me on Insta, you may have seen sneak-peeks of the huge project I’ve been working on for the last several months (check out #OperationClubhouse). It’s been a bit slow going since A) I’m doing most of the work myself, B) $$$, C) 7 birthdays and 3 major holidays all in the last quarter of the year left little time for power tools. But, we’re finally closing in on the finish line and now that all the festivities are over I have more time to try and get this thing done!

DIY Built-Ins – I’ve wanted built-in bookcases on our living room since we first saw our house, 6 years ago. Now, thanks to a small, unexpected windfall, we have the money to do it. That’ll be the next project tackled as soon as I’m done with the clubhouse.

Outdoor Furniture – We have a beautiful, spacious backyard, perfect for entertaining! For years I’ve been dreaming of getting my hands on some great outdoor sofas to create a relaxing, outdoor “living room.” The problem has been the price. I just couldn’t see myself dropping 1K+ for outdoor furniture. Enter Anna White and her awesome plans for a DIY outdoor sectional. And the best part is that you can build one section at a time (as money and time allows) and customize it to whatever configuration will work best for your space. I’ve also been brainstorming plans for a DIY fire pit/coffee table that would be amazing!

Aside from my building projects I’m also gearing up for the girls’ birthday party, a trip to Disneyland with the biggest little, and carving out some time to up my photography skills. I may even get around to finally painting/decorating our master bedroom.

I’m super excited for what this year has in store. I hope you all will follow along as I paint, build, and mom my way through 2018.

What are your big plans for the new year?
