Glamming It Up at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (Behind the Scenes of a Princess Makeover)

If you’ve never heard of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you’re not alone. I’d never heard of it either up until a couple years ago when a friend took her kids to California and posted pictures of her darling daughter getting a princess transformation . . . at Disneyland! What?! I must know all the things!!
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is an enchanted beauty salon, located in Fantasyland (next to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle), that caters to children between the ages of 3-12. Fairy godmothers-in-training complete a head-to-toe pampering session turning your tiny human from a regular child into a fairytale princess or brave knight. Packages start from $65 (for princesses) and $20 (for knights).
As soon as I learned about this magical makeover, I knew this was something I was going to want to do for my girls when we visited Disneyland. So once the opportunity to visit Disneyland came around, the first thing I did was make a reservation for Emma to become a princess. And her appointment did not disappoint!
We opted for The Crown package (their base package) and brought one of Emma’s princess dresses from home. She has over a dozen of them, which includes most of the Disney princesses anyway, so I really didn’t see the need to pick a package that included another princess dress. I let her choose which of her dresses to bring, and she chose her Belle dress.
When appointment time rolled around, we reported to the Enchanted Chamber (next door to the boutique) to check in. They showed Emma a book of available hairstyles so she could choose what she liked. She opted for a half-updo with a bun and a pink hairpiece.
Shortly after, we were met by our fairy godmother-in-training and escorted into the salon portion of the boutique and the pampering began!
Emma’s hair was magically transformed into the style she chose by our fairy godmother, while another stopped by to apply some glittery polish on my princess’s nails and some makeup on her pretty face.
Then they added a little tiara, a pink sash, and a jewel sticker to her cheek. Finally, a sprinkle of glitter from our godmother’s wand and the transformation was complete!
Our fairy godmother-in-training spun Emma’s chair around, and pulled back the curtains hiding the mirror, to reveal the results to the little princess. She loved it!
Then, they whipped out a pink, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique drawstring backpack, and began filling it up with the stuff they used. The makeup, the nail polish . . . even the comb and brush! Practically everything that they used during her makeover was packed in the bag for us to take home. They also included travel-sized bottle of shampoo and make-up remover for later.
The whole process took about 30 minutes. Emma loved it and I was super happy that I was able to do this for her. If you’re headed to Disneyland with little girls and are wondering if the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is worth it – Yes! It is! I have zero regrets spending the money on this treat for Emma. She was so happy to look like a princess, just like the ones she adores.
I’m so excited for when Charlie is old enough for me to treat her to the same princess makeover! I’m sure she’ll love it as much as her big sister did!

This is such a fun little experience! I can’t wait til my daughter is old enough to try it out. It would be such a fun way to celebrate a birthday. Thank you for sharing!
